FOUR CALENDAR

From earth and water, Valentin Lopez is in search of precious gems and treasures to instill a sense of wonder in those who choose to consume with intention. Lifelong interests in agriculture and biology took root in their family’s origins in coastal Nayarit, Mexico. Their lived experience as an undocumented, queer immigrant, deeply informs how they navigate the world. It is with this unique perspective that they bring you Four Calendar.

Carefully curated and orchestrated, Four Calendar seeks to remain wickedly playful. Live fire cooking and lush florals set the backdrop for a sensuous exploration of the pleasure to be found in eating. A devotion to hyperlocal produce and foraged ingredients takes the driver’s seat here, with menus dictated by the sun and moon as an ode to the season. In this first iteration, there is a focus on the bounty of our nearby waters, weaving together techniques, ingredients, and dishes from Mexico, Italy, France and Japan.

Four Calendar is based out of Santa Cruz, a sleepy little beach town that sits neatly between Big Sur and San Francisco.
